The Zen of Figure Modeling

Drawing is a frame of mind, a loving embrace if you will. (Susan Avishai)

Figure modeling is not a job for me, it's an opportunity to be able to be part of the creative process, working with incredibly talented people to create art.  Modeling is calming, peaceful, a happy place.  I truly appreciate being invited to be part of the creative process each and every time and love to help promote the local figure drawing community and the art work that is produced.

I love working with formal classes, figure drawing groups and individual artists.  To date I have posed for The Purple Door Art Studio, Gorilla House LIVE ART, Wildflower Arts Centre's figure drawing class, Quickdraw Animation Society, Atlantis Fine Framing's figure drawing group, the Go Figure! group, the Finishing School for Mountain Girls, and individual artists and teachign classes.  I am also employed as an in house figure model for the Alberta College of Art and Design.  I am always interested in meeting new artists and groups to model for.

I offer nude, partially draped, gesture and long poses.  I am comfortable posing solo or with other models, along with working with individuals and larger groups.  I also pose en plein air when the opportunity and weather arises.  After some research, I am also happy to say that I am available for body painting as well, either for practice or for shows.  It's a fantastic form of art.
